Doctoroff says city officials have adapted

Deputy Mayor Dan Doctoroff, who is stepping down from his government
post to become president of Bloomberg LP, said city officials have
become “better listeners” over the years. The city may be more patient
today than before when considering the impact of development projects
on the community. While critics of the new Yankee Stadium say the city
forced it through in 2005, the Bloomberg administration’s recently
announced plans for Coney Island will go through several meetings and
reviews. Likewise, the Hudson Yards mega-project is undergoing a
complex public-private arrangement and competitive bidding war.
Doctoroff also said he hopes to put Moynihan Station through ULURP, the
city’s multi-phased, seven-month rezoning process.
