Catsimatidis sells East Village building

Real estate tycoon and potential mayoral candidate John Catsimatidis
sold an East Village commercial building for $10.5 million to a company
controlled by Allan Howard Goldman, a source close to the deal said.
The sale of the 10,330 square-foot building at 516 East 14th Street to
Goldman’s East 14th Lighthouse LLC closed on Dec. 5, city records show.
Rite Aid is the tenant at the one-story commercial property, which is
zoned for four stories and 41,612 buildable square feet. Goldman
already owns neighboring one-story retail properties at 512, 510 and
504 East 14th Street. Catsimatidis, who owns the shrinking Gristede’s
supermarket chain as well as several properties and an oil refinery
business, has been publicly considering a run for mayor. Contrary to
media reports published today, Catsimatidis did not sell his corporate
headquarters at 823 11th Avenue.
