The M.T.A.’s $6.3 billion East Side Access tunnel project will claim
the Long Island City building that houses the Flux Factory, an art
space in a converted warehouse at 38-38 43rd Street. Flux Factory
signed a 15-year lease in 2002 after it was priced out of an old spice
factory in Williamsburg. It created the big “New York New York”
alternative cityscape installation at the Queens Museum of Art.
