Bronx awaits benefits from new Yankee Stadium

Almost 17 months after construction began on the new Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, none of the money from a promised community benefits package has been distributed. The Yankees promised to give $1.2 million a year to community groups during construction. A team spokeswoman said the money is in an escrow account, ready to be given out by a special panel, and the team isn’t to blame for any delays.
