Countrywide ‘recreated’ letters to homeowner

Countrywide Financial told a judge it “recreated” letters to a Pennsylvania homeowner filing bankruptcy. “These letters are a smoking gun that something is not right in Denmark,” Thomas P. Agresti., federal bankruptcy judge, said in a Dec. 20 hearing in Pittsburgh. The bankruptcy case is one of 300 in western Pennsylvania that has brought more scrutiny to nation’s largest home lender.
