Silda Wall Spitzer to present governor’s green policy

Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s wife, Silda Wall Spitzer, will present the
administration’s plans to improve energy efficiency and encourage green
building at an event tonight organized by the New York Chapter of the
U.S. Green Building Council and hosted by the New School. The
presentation will be followed by a panel discussion including
representatives from Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s office, as well as the
real estate community and labor and environment groups. Last year, Gov.
Spitzer pledged to reduce energy consumption in the state by 15 percent
by the year 2015 and proposed legislation that would give developers
incentives to build green. TRD
