A Manhattanville commercial building that Columbia University purchased at 555 West 125th Street for $6.25 million is outside the footprint of the university’s planned expansion and will be used for relocating residents, said spokeswoman La-Verna J. Fountain. The building, also known as 1 Old Broadway, was sold by Vickers Realty, a family-owned firm. Columbia is expanding north into Harlem and plans on building a new 17-acre campus there. TRD
