Millionaire’s house faces foreclosure

The Brooklyn home that took center stage in
a dispute between a millionaire sweater mogul and his wife is facing
foreclosure. The Borough
Park brownstone, which was
divided in half by a wall of sheetrock following a judge’s ruling two years
ago, has outstanding mortgage debts of $95,000. Earlier, a judge refused Chana
Taub’s request to enforce an order that husband Simon Taub pay the mortgage on
the house. Simon Taub, who has filed for bankruptcy, said the debt had
escalated after his wife illegally refinanced the property two years ago to pay
legal bills. He owns several rental apartment buildings in Williamsburg.
