Six lenders, including Bank of America Corp. and Citigroup Inc., reportedly will announce today that they are taking new steps to aid borrowers in danger of default. Bloomberg reports that the banks, encouraged by Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, will offer a 30-day freeze on foreclosures while changes to loans are considered. Customers who are at least three months late on payments — including prime borrowers — will be eligible.
