The median price of single-family homes in greater New York continued to rise in the fourth quarter, despite the national market’s downturn, according to a National Association of Realtors survey. The median sale price in the metro area, which includes New Jersey and Westchester, was $523,300, up 3.6 percent from the previous year. More than half of the 150 metro areas surveyed saw decreases, including Long Island, where the median price fell 2.5 percent to $461,700. Just 11 cities saw double-digit increases, including Binghamton, N.Y., where the median price jumped 14.8 percent to $110,000.
