Dumbo developers work to retain artists

Now that David Walentas and son Jed, partners in Two Trees Management own much of Dumbo, they are providing space to artists at below-market prices. The Walentas say the presence of artists increases Dumbo’s value. But the neighborhood is gentrifying, and the city Planning Department has proposed rezoning the recently landmarked area to allow more taller buildings.
