As supermarkets close throughout Brooklyn, residents are turning to food
co-ops for fresh and affordable produce. Flatbush and East New York already
have successful food co-ops, where local farmers from New York and the
surrounding states come into neighborhoods to sell produce, and more
co-ops are expected to sprout up in Fort Greene and Bay Ridge.
