Jim McGown’s resume is more varied than most. Former stock and mortgage broker, McGown was most recently real estate developer. Now, he’s selling South Brooklyn Pizza’s margheritta pizza. McGown bought P.J. Hanley’s, an old Irish pub in Carroll Gardens, and added South Brooklyn Pizza, after spending $200,000 on renovations. McGown reached out to the Italian neighborhood and sought out the secrets of pizza making. The restaurant opened in May and after receiving a write-up in the New York Times is bringing in the crowds, despite its notable lack of advertising or even a sign.
