October foreclosures up over 2007

The number of foreclosures in New York City in October was 50 percent higher
than last year, according to PropertyShark. A total of 336 homes in the city entered
foreclosure last month. That number, however, was a 15 percent decrease
from September’s foreclosure rate, and only Manhattan saw
foreclosures increase month-over-month. Queens saw the greatest increase in foreclosures, with the number doubling to
211 from last year. [Crain’s] and [SI Advance]
