About 50 blocks of the
Brighton Beach neighborhood in Brooklyn could be rezoned. The City
Planning commission recently began the public review process of the rezoning,
which will establish height limits in the area and allow opportunities
for growth and affordable housing, according to a City Planning press release. The area to be rezoned stretches
from Ocean Parkway to Cass Place, and Shore Parkway to Brighton
Beach Avenue, and consists of small, one- to three-story homes and some
large apartment buildings up to 13 stories tall.
