New bill protects tenants in owner-occupancy evictions

State senators are introducing a new bill to stop the abuse of owner-occupancy evictions of rent-regulated tenants. State Senator Daniel Squadron said the legislation would restrict mass evictions of a single dwelling unit to be used as the landlord’s primary residence, and would prevent the eviction of tenants who have lived in their apartments for more than 20 years.
