City Dwellers ditches dwelling

The partners heading up rental brokerage New York City Dwellers have split, and the company has closed its office, but is continuing to operate online, according to owner Dennis Shuliak.

Shuliak said George Goshadze, his former partner at the brokerage, is no longer affiliated with the firm and the company has closed its office on the second floor of 39 West 14th Street. Though its Web site remains intact, the company may change its name, he said. He declined to comment further, saying the details of the separation are still being finalized.

Goshadze could not be reached for comment.

The company, founded in 2003, has operated out of the 14th Street location for three years, Shuliak said.

The company specializes in Manhattan rentals and had some 25 agents, he said, but now has only “a few” remaining.

In 2008, the company made headlines when a NYC Dwellers agent, who Goshadze had fired for not having a license, was accused of scamming customers.
