The Port Authority of New
York and New Jersey is no longer calling the 2.6 million-square-foot
building at the World Trade Center site the Freedom Tower, and instead is using its address One World Trade Center. “One World
Trade Center is its address … the one that’s easiest for
people to identify with and frankly we’ve gotten a very interested and
warm reception to it,” said Port Authority Chairman Anthony Coscia. Port Authority officials
addressed the name change after signing a lease with the Chinese firm
Vantone Industrial, the first tenant in the building.
