Atelier draws celebs: Dane Cook, Brendan Fraser look while Dania Ramirez rents

When new Manhattan condo the Atelier debuted in 2007, actress Lindsay Lohan was offered an apartment there (reportedly for free) to help give West 42nd Street building some star power.

Though the ploy was widely reported as a publicity stunt, it seems to have helped get other celebrities’ attention. Sources say comedian Dane Cook recently checked out apartments in the Far West Side building. The funnyman will appear in Neil LaBute’s “Fat Pig” on Broadway this spring.

Meanwhile, “Entourage” hottie Dania Ramirez has been renting an apartment at the Atelier for the past six months. Brendan Fraser also scoped out the building this fall, when he did a short stint on Broadway in “Elling.”

The building, located at 635 West 42nd Street between 11th and 12th avenues, has an indoor pool, a 12,000-square-foot health club, a rooftop lounge, basketball court, tennis court, movie theatre, a cross-town shuttle bus and daily breakfast.

Dan Neiditch of River 2 River Realty, the firm handling rentals and sales for the building, confirmed that celebrities stay in the building, but said he couldn’t reveal which ones. He said bold-faced names are attracted to the building for the Hudson River views and “the security and privacy that we offer here.” River 2 River rents out furnished rentals for periods as short as six-months, he said, which lures celebrities in town temporarily.

Page Six reported in 2008 that the Atelier was leasing apartments to celebrities for free, but Neiditch said there is “no free rent” at the building.
