For all the hoopla surrounding Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony’s apartment hunt, he’s proving difficult to track down. Earlier this month, reports had pegged the Brooklyn native as staying in four rented units at Extell Development’s the Adlyn and the Ashley on the Upper West Side. And before that, he was said to be looking for a unit downtown, in buildings like 158 Mercer Street at Soho Mews. But last week, Page Six spies saw Melo and his reality television star wife, La La, moving into the Hit Factory Condominium at 421 West 54th Street, where sources told the tabloid that the couple has inked a one-year lease for a penthouse duplex. Penthouses at the Hit Factory, a former recording studio where John Lennon, Mick Jagger and Bruce Springsteen all sung, go for between $14,900 and $22,000 per month. It’s unclear whether Melo was actually ever living at the Aldyn and the Ashley, but speculation surrounding his real estate moves will surely continue. [Post]
