It looks like developer Bruce Ratner and hip-hop music mogul Jay-Z have a title in common. The Atlantic Yards Report and the New York Post reported that Jay-Z, also known as Shawn Carter, is listed as a director for the Brooklyn Arena LLC — the company behind the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
News of the musician’s position emerged as Barclays Center officials confirmed that the center would extend drinking hours until 2 a.m. for big spenders, the Post said, though the plan still needs State Liquor Authority approval.
In his capacity as director, Jay-Z will attend board meetings and direct senior staff on daily arena operations. So far, he’s helped the Nets design both the team’s logos and jerseys, as well as the $550,000 luxury arena suites called “the Vault,” the Post said. [Atlantic Yards Report] and [Post]
