Frances Schor, whose 27-year-old Treeline Companies owns some 2.5 million square feet of commercial real estate throughout the New York area, sold her 2,700-square-foot condominium unit for $125,000 less than the $4.5 million asking price. Schor, who is Treeline’s founder and CEO, listed the Galleria unit, at 117 East 57th Street, three months ago with Roberta Title and Maria Elena Scotto of Brown Harris Stevens.
The deal closed May 31, according to public records. It was not immediately clear how much she paid for the apartment when she purchased it in 2007. Neither Schor nor her broker team was immediately available for comment.
Loretta Evensen, a trustee for the Loretta Evensen 1991 Trust, bought Schor’s apartment, which features a paneled library and Central Park views. Public records show that Evensen is based in Los Angeles.
Treeline’s portfolio includes Brooklyn towers at 117 and 180 Livingstone Street and 188 and 189 Montague Street. The company joined forces with SL Green Realty and Louis Greco last year to campaign against a city plan to landmark nearly two dozen tall buildings in Downtown Brooklyn and Brooklyn Heights.
They argued that the so-called “Skyscraper Historic District” plan, comprising a municipal building and a group of early-1900s Structures Along Court Street, would prevent owners from taking advantage of the demand for retail. However, the New York City Council voted February 1 to approve the plan.
According to Treeline’s website, Schor and her husband, Glenn Schor, split their time between their homes in New York City and Long Island.
