Call it a marked-down empire state of mind. Singer Alicia Keys has cut the price on her 30 Crosby Street Soho penthouse to $15 million, $2.95 million less than its original listing price. The unit hit the market in March.

Eric Malley of Sotheby’s International Realty has the listing.

Keys and her husband, recording artist Swizz Beatz, purchased the 6,167-square-foot, five-bedroom, four-bathroom penthouse for $12.75 million in 2010 from performer Lenny Kravitz. The couple has purchased Eddie Murphy’s 30-room New Jersey mansion for $12 million, as The Real Deal previously reported.

Kravitz bought the Soho penthouse in 2000 for $7.1 million and relisted it in 2002 for $17 million after a major renovation. The unit has a butler’s pantry, a formal dining room, a library and media room, as well as a wine cellar.

A 3,500-square-foot, three-bedroom, four-bathroom duplex in the same building is listed at $6.7 million. [Curbed]- Hiten Samtani
