One of the original duplexes at the storied Beresford building on the Upper West Side has come on the market for an asking price of $24 million, according to Streeteasy.com. The home, on the 17th and 18th floors of the tony building at 211 Central Park West, is on the floor below the residence of comedian Jerry Seinfeld, who lives off of a different elevator bank on the 19th floor, and is owned by Carol Levy, a longtime independent broker, and her husband Chris Lipman.

Levy, whose company is Carol. E. Levy Real Estate, is also the listing broker for the unit, the higher floor of which she has owned for more than 20 years. She and Lipman reportedly paid $3.15 million for the six-room apartment directly below theirs in 2002, recreating one of the Emery Roth building’s original duplexes, which is connected by a marble staircase.

Levy, who personally renovated the home, said while while she loves the apartment and the building, she’s “ready to move on.” She said she might even look to buy and transform another apartment in the building.

The six-bedroom, four-bathroom apartment has two terraces, wood-burning fireplaces and custom detailing, according to the listing. It features an eat-in kitchen, a media room, a formal dining room and a library.

CORRECTION: In a previous version of this story, The Real Deal incorrectly stated that the Beresford apartment was directly below Jerry Seinfeld’s home. While it’s on the floor below Seinfeld’s property, it is not directly below.
