The stiletto-clad fashionistas and bespectacled literary types of Conde Nast — publisher of Vogue and the New Yorker magazines — will be rubbing shoulders with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Customs and Border Protection in their new 1 World Trade Center outpost.
Those two agencies will occupy the federal General Services Administration’s space in the tower, developed by the Durst Organization and the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey. They and the GSA will take up 268,000 square feet in the tower in 2015, a source briefed on the moves told the New York Post.
Conde Nast, meanwhile, will be the biggest kid on site with more than 1.1 million square feet at 1 World Trade Center. China’s Beijing Vantone is to occupy an additional 200,000 square feet in the tower as well, which otherwise remains roughly half leased. [NYP] — Julie Strickland
