Olivier Sarkozy, half-brother of the ex-French president and main squeeze of fashionista Mary-Kate Olsen, has sold his 19th-century East Village rowhouse at 123 East 10th Street for $6.4 million. The five-bedroom, four-bathroom house was built in 1854 and designed by famed 19th-century architect James Renwick. Sarkozy listed the pad in July for just shy of $7 million with Douglas Elliman’s Jared Seligman and Town Residential’s Steven Gold.
The buyers were artist Aaron Young and his girlfriend Laure Heriard Dubreuil, the New York Post reported. Olsen and Sarkozy were drawn to the house because of its vintage, dating to 1854, but they left the property largely untouched and never ended up moving in, the Post said.
Sarkozy paid $6.25 million in 2012 for the property, which comes with eight fireplaces and multiple parlors, according to the listing. [NYP] – Hiten Samtani
