A charity led by Charles Bronfman, billionaire and former co-chairman of gin purveyor Seagram, signed a lease for 6,413 square feet of office space at 445 Park Avenue.
An Entity Called Only Park Avenue Props Associates LLC owns the office property, located between 56th and 57th streets, where asking rent is in the $90s per square foot, according to the Wall Street Journal. A Brown Harris Stevens office occupies the 11th and 12th floors.
The Andrea and Charles Bronfman Philanthropies, which raises funds to promote Canadian and Jewish cultures, is currently based nearby, at 110 East 59th Street. The move is planned for the spring.
Jeffrey Peck of Studley represented the Bronfmans in the deal.
Bronfman is the uncle of former Warner Music CEO Edgar Bronfman Jr., who sold the so-called “Muppet Mansion” at 117 East 69th Street — formerly the Jim Henson’s creative headquarters — for $23 million in 2011. [WSJ, 1st item] — Mark Maurer
