Shirley MacLaine lists New Mexico ranch for $18M
7,450-acre property features 9,000 SF house, caretaker's cottage and horse barn
Actress Shirley MacLaine has put her 7,450-acre New Mexico ranch on the market for $18 million.
The property includes a 9,000 square-foot main house, caretaker’s cottage, horse barn, swimming pool and two ponds and ranch buildings and equipment. The ranch, Known As The Plaza Blanca Ranch, is in Abiquiu, New Mexico, roughly an hour’s drive north of Santa Fe.
The house is split in two: On one side is the original house, to which MacLaine added a master bedroom, dining area, kitchen and patio. On the other side is the guest house, which features more bedrooms, a living room and another kitchen.
The actress also built an underground apartment beneath the house, equipped with four bedrooms, a living room and kitchen. MacLaine also built a stone labyrinth on top of a hill, which she said helps “listen to your inner guidance.”
MacLaine purchased the land about 20 years ago. She’s selling it now because she wants to spend more time in Santa Fe, where she purchased a house six years ago.
