Mary-Kate Olsen and fiancé Olivier Sarkozy, brother to former French president Nicholas, have picked up a new pad in Turtle Bay for $13.5 million.

The 8,000-square-foot pad at 226-228 East 49th Street comes complete with a private garage, ballroom, elevator, five bedrooms and an artist’s studio, the New York Post reported.

The pair reportedly checked out a number of townhouses around the city, on the hunt for a more modern, private home than their previous five-bedroom townhouse at 123 East 10th Street. Sarkozy picked up that home for $6.25 million in 2012, then sold it about a year later to artist Aaron Young for $6.4 million in January.

Painter David Deutsch sold the pad, which was first listed for $16.5 million in April. The home last changed hands for $2.45 million in 1997, according to city records. [NYP]Julie Strickland
