Japanese trust bank signs 90K sf lease at McGraw-Hill Building
Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking taking ninth and tenth floors in Rockefeller Group tower
Japanese trust bank Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking agreed to take 90,000 square feet at Rockefeller Group’s 1221 Sixth Avenue.
The bank is relocating its offices from 420 Fifth AvenueAnd 520 Madison Avenue to the ninth and tenth floors at the McGraw-Hill building on Sixth Avenue and West 48th Street, according to the New York Post.
Cushman & Wakefield’s John Cefaly and Ed Guiltinan represented the Rockefeller Group and Jones Lang LaSalle’s Daoud Awad and Toshi Aratani represented the bank, according to the newspaper.
With Mitsubishi’s lease, only four floors remain available in the 50-story, 2.5 million-square-foot office building. Asking rents are around $78 per square foot.
Earlier this year, MUFG Union Bank signed on for 209,700 square feet in the same building, where the lobby is being renovated for the first time since 1999, according to the newspaper. [NYP, 1st] — Claire Moses
