It’s hard to sell residents on $5,000 a month rent when the closest subway is a 15-minute walk away. That’s why one Alphabet City building is offering a shuttle bus.
The Adele, a 12-story building at 310 East 2nd Street and Avenue D, opened last year and is already nearly full, according to the New York Post.
“I feel safer using it when I come home at night or when I’m going to work,” said tenant Audre Hirtelen, 22.
The shuttle runs every half hour during the week, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
“It’s a long walk to the subway, especially in this weather,” John Franzoza, the building’s concierge, told the Post. [NYP] – Christopher Cameron
