The long-delayed 135,000-square-foot green roof that will eventually crown Brooklyn’s Barclays Center is finally taking shape.
In the video below, Linda Chiarelli, Deputy Director of Construction for Forest City Ratner, tells Architect Newspaper why it took so long for Barclay Center to go green. The answer: its roof trusses were not designed to bear the weight of a green roof so a “whole new roof structure was installed.”
