Madison Square Garden is about to get a bit more pedestrian friendly, with a new mall at the venue set to open Monday.
The pedestrian mall will feature tables and chairs on West 33rd Street alongside Madison Square Garden, according to the New York Post. The mall will begin on Seventh Avenue and run to the Garden’s loading docks about halfway down the block.
Officials hope that the mall will become a popular lunch spot, as well as a space for performances and fitness workshops.
However, the mall may not last. Officials well decide on October 11 whether to make the space permanent. [NYP] –Christopher Cameron
