A man who left a bizarre package in a Time Warner Center with a note claiming it came from the Islamic State terrorist group has been arrested.
Jonathan Lamptey, a resident of the Bronx, was arrested and charged Friday with making terrorist threats and aggravated harassment.
He allegedly left a large envelope at the tower, developed by the Related Companies and AREA Property Partners, located at 10 Columbus Circle in Midtown, containing a DVD and a note that read, “I have been sent from a man from IS. This is not a bomb. Take it to police or CNN. I have a book for Barack Obama. I have a five-year-old U.S. citizen in custody. Deliver this ASAP and the child will have his freedom,” the New York Post reported.
The DVD in the envelope contained a video of a man talking about President Obama.
