The Durst Organization released new renderings of its unusual, tetrahedron-shaped VIA 57 West rental project at 625 West 57th Street.
The images offer a look at the 800,000-square-foot, Bjarke Ingles-designed building’s irregular profile and its tooth-like protruding windows and terraces.
The project, which Ingels once called “the lovechild of a courtyard building and a skyscraper,” also got a new teaser website, NY YIMBY reported.
The Durst Organization filed plans in 2010 to build 709 apartments at the site, 142 of which will offer below-market rents. It will also include 45,000 square feet of retail space. Construction is expected to be completed in 2016.
Last month, The Real Deal reported that the Durst Organization was seeking a car dealer as a tenant for the building’s retail space. [NY YIMBY] – Ariel Stulberg
