From LLNYC: Remember how “Let It Go” was stuck in your head for the entirety of 2014? Is it stuck there now? You’re welcome.
Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, the Academy Award-winning songwriting duo who wrote that song (for better or worse), have just purchased the penthouse apartment in 145 Park Place for $2.5 million. They also purchased another unit on a lower floor of the building last week for $1.7 million. We smell a combo cooking.
In addition to “Frozen,” Lopez co-created the Tony Award winning musical “Book of Mormon,” and is one of the few people in the world to have earned an EGOT (an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award) and the only person to have ever won it within a decade.
The couple also owns another five-bedroom home in Park Slope, which they purchased in 2012 for $3.4 million. Property records don’t show that they’ve let that one go yet.
Broker Brian Lewis of Halstead had the listing. Lewis went viral a couple weeks ago for this fabulous video, and it looks like he gave this listing the same satirical treatment.
