What do a clapboard farmhouse, a historic brewhouse and the site of a presidential inauguration have in common? They’ve all been languishing on the Landmarks Preservation Commission’s to-do list for decades.
This month, The Real Deal took a look at the most interesting buildings still on hold from the Landmarks Preservation Committee in Manhattan. There are more than 95 buildings waiting for possible landmark or historic status from the LPC, and the agency is now under political pressure to clear that backlog.
