Last Spring, the Upper East Side townhouse that the late caricaturist Al Hirschfeld called home hit the market asking $9.2 million. The best part was that it features an eight-foot-tall original mural by the artist. Now, the townhouse has found a buyer.
The pink townhouse, located at 122 East 95th Street, between Lexington and Park Avenues, has gone into contract after the asking price was reduced to $8.75 million, according to the New York Observer. Sotheby’s broker Serena Boardman had the listing.
The last owners of the home were Paul and Denise Lachman, who gave the four-bedroom home a careful renovation after purchasing it from Hirschfeld’s estate for $5.3 million in 2011. The property features a roof deck, a terrace and a back garden, as well as the giant mural by Hirschfeld on the parlor floor.
