Forest City Ratner’s former President and COO Joanne Minieri joined RXR Realty, where she will lead the firm’s construction division.
Most recently, Minieri served as Suffolk County’s commissioner of economic development – a job she left in July after four years. She had worked at Forest City Ratner for 17 years until 2012. “I had a plan for myself and my plan was to work in Suffolk County for a period of time, but it was my decision to leave,” she told the Commercial Observer. “I wanted to go back into the private world. I like pioneering ideas and creating communities.”
As an executive vice president at RXR [TRDataCustom], Minieri will oversee a 100-person construction team and work on high-profile projects such as the $360 million renovation of 75 Rockefeller Plaza and the $350 renovation and expansion of Pier 57.
“Joining us at a time when our development pipeline has grown to more than $3 billion, including nearly 3,000 residential units in or near production, Joanne has a background and set of skills that will ensure that we continue to execute on our business plans effectively,” RXR’s CEO Scott Rechler said in a statement.
