Luxury Menswear Retailer Angelo Galasso Is Once Again Having Trouble With His Plaza Hotel store. This time, he claims con artists took over his shop.
Back in 2014, The Real Deal reported that the owners of The Plaza Hotel placed a restraining order Galasso because of an eviction proceeding. Galasso fired back, with a $3.5 million suit for being wrongfully evicted on false pretenses.
Now, he claims two men he met at the Core Club, Sam Munshani and Leigh Davies, duped him into letting them run his shop, according to the New York Post.
Munshani described himself as “extremely connected” and promised to double the sales volume at Galasso’s outlet within two months, according to the Post. Galasso put them in charge of all operations.
The men allegedly fired key staff and ordered $1.5 million in unnecessary merchandise. Galasso is seeking $5 million in damages. [NYP] –Christopher Cameron
