“Grand Theft Auto” creator inks 61K sf lease at 1133 Sixth

Software firm Take-Two Interactive will take two floors in a 15-year deal

Take-Two Interactive, the software company behind video games like Grand Theft Auto and BioShock, signed a 15-year lease for 61,383 square feet at Durst Organization’s building at 1133 Sixth Avenue.

The company will take the entire second and third floors of the 1.1 million-square-foot building, the Commercial Observer reported. Asking rent in the deal is $82 per square foot, and includes giving the company its own entrance on West 44th Street and 7,000 square feet of outdoor space.

The deal sees Take-Two moving from its current office at 622 Broadway, where it leases about 82,256 square feet, according to the publication.

Cushman & Wakefield’s [TRDataCustom] David Rosenbloom and Maria Travlos represented Take-Two in the deal. Tom Bow, Rocco Romeo, Ashlea Aaron and Tanya Grimaldo of Durst represented the landlord in-house.

Dutch banking giant ING singed a 10-year lease for 132,000 square feet at the 1133 Sixth Avenue at the start of the year.

In April, casualty insurer the Chubb Corporation took two additional floors at the building, expanding its footprint there to 184,000 square feet.

Last year, the National Basketball Players Association made plans to sell its Harlem headquarters building at 310 Lenox Avenue, and take 47,000 square feet at 1133 Sixth Avenue in a lease for more than 21 years. [CO]Miriam Hall
