British Designer Karl Templer is the creative director of Interview and his work has appeared in publications internationally including Vogue Italia, Vogue Paris, W, and The New York Times. So it’s perhaps no surprise that he would pick up a terribly chic townhouse in terribly chic Chelsea.

Templer, who has worked with Alexander Wang, Calvin Klein and Sacai and Valentino, paid $8 million for a 19th century townhouse at 348 West 22nd Street, according to listing agent Matthew Lesser of Leslie J. Garfield & Co.

The 4,300-square-foot house boasts seven bedrooms, six bathrooms and a 35-foot-deep south-facing garden.

Currently, the house is configured as an upstair triplex with two studios, but was sold without tenants. We wouldn’t be surprised if the property was restored to its original single family layout — especially since there is room to expand the living space to 6,200 square feet.
