Last month, former Douglas Elliman broker Luis Ortiz announced he was saying “au revoir” to New York City for a new life in Paris. Now “Million Dollar Listing NY” is saying “bonjour” to its newest cast member.
When the real estate reality show returns to Bravo TV on May 25, Town Residential broker Steven Gold will join Douglas Elliman’s Fredrik Eklund and Nest Seekers International’s Ryan Serhant for its sixth season.
“Apparently there’s a new shark in the pool,” Fredrik Eklund teases in the trailer, which hints at the usual mix of luxurious apartments, personal drama and not-so-subtle sexual innuendo.
In the sneak peek, Gold claims to have sold “well over” $100 million in real estate last year and hopes to double that number in 2017.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the MDLNY cast,” Gold said in a statement to The Real Deal. “I’ve been super competitive and have been working on deals with Fredrik and Ryan for many years now, so this such a great fit for me. Not to mention, I am a huge fan of the show and I am excited to be joining the Bravo family!”
Prior to his small screen debut, Gold represented Anne Hathaway on the $4.3 million sale of her Clocktower unit at One Main Street in Dumbo. In February 2016, he helped interior design duo Cortney and Robert Novogratz unload their West Village townhouse for $14.5 million.
The newly-wed Serhant is back this season dealing with crazy clients and what appears to be a personal crisis, while Eklund receives the “assignment of his life” at Ian Bruce Eichner’s 45 West 22nd Street. It seems like the high-kicking broker remains in limbo about trying for another baby, telling husband Derek Kaplan that “it’s not meant to be.”
