Jonathan Safran Foer is hoping to make a tidy little profit on his Boerum Hill townhouse, listing the home for $10.4 million, double what he paid in 2014.
Foer, the author of “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close” and “Everything is Illuminated,” paid $5.4 million for the place at 374 Pacific Street three years ago, Variety reported.
The 26-foot wide townhouse was built in 1899 and has nearly 8,000 square feet across five floors, according to StreetEasy. There’s eight bedrooms, five bathrooms and a 1,400-square-foot master bedroom suite with a 22-foot-long bathroom. It also features a garden-level guest suite with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
In 2015, Foer’s ex-wife, fellow novelist Nicole Krauss, paid $3 million to buy him out of their Park Slope townhouse at 646 2nd Street.
Krauss, who wrote “The History of Love,” and Foer divorced in 2014, and had previously listed the 6,200-square-foot home for $14.5 million. They dropped the price to $13 million in 2014. [Variety] — Miriam Hall
