From LLNYC: Every “girl” needs to grow up sometime. “Girls” show-runner Lena Dunham has just sold off her starter apartment at 145 Hicks Street in Brooklyn Heights for $850,000, per WWD.
Though that may not seem like so much money (at least, by New York City real estate standards), Dunham only paid $500,000 for it in 2012 right around the time when “Girls” premiered. So this is a pretty nice little profit for her. There’s no listing for the co-op unit, but WWD reports that it is 800 square feet, with one-bedroom and one bathroom. The buyers are Lesley Chang and Jason Klimoski, who are architects and co-founders of the firm STUDIOKCA.
This pad is significantly smaller than the one Dunham bought in 2014, also in Brooklyn Heights, for almost $4.9 million. That one is 3,200 square feet, and has four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms and a private terrace. So more of a woman’s apartment than a girls’, which is not bad considering she bought it when she was just 28 years old. [WWD]
