Fault! Tennis legend John McEnroe attempted to ace his Southampton estate, but buyers weren’t having it. His 8,000-square-foot beach house sold for $11.25 million last month — quite a bit under the original ask.

McEnroe was initially asking $14.5 million for the vacation house when it first hit the market in May 2016. Nevertheless, the deal still lined his pockets. He and his wife, singer and songwriter Patty Smyth, bought the house for $4.2 million in 1999, according to the New York Post.

The property boasts 2.17 acres in the historic Murray Compound, and before you ask, yes, it has a tennis court.

The main residence has eight bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, a vaulted ceiling, a library, an office, a gym and a sunroom, according to the listing with Sotheby’s International Realty.

No word yet on who bought the prestigious property.
