The weather wasn’t looking good this past Monday.
Indeed, over 200 real estate professionals arrived at Colonial Springs Golf Club in East Farmingdale amid torrential rain. Fortunately, the clouds parted just in time for tee-off at The Real Deal’s seventh annual golf outing, and the group took to the links to golf and schmooze.
The change in weather served as an apt metaphor for the general mood among the field: optimism in spite of uncertainty.
Town Residential’s Tom Brady, for instance, offered a positive opinion on the retail market.
“I’m feeling a lot better now,” Brady told The Real Deal’s Hiten Samtani. “After what could very well be a two-year stalemate, retailers looking for space and landlords representing said space have finally come to terms.”
Likewise, Halstead Property’s Peter Denby said that the luxury market appeared “healthier.”
“If things are priced well and the project is done right, things are actually moving at a good pace,” he said.
