Tech-focused law firm Cooley LLP finalized a deal to lease 130,000 square feet at 55 Hudson Yards, the Related Companies announced Monday.
As of earlier this year, Cooley had been in negotiations to lease several floors at the top of the 50-story tower, as The Real Deal first reported in February.
The law firm finally took five floors near the top of the building.
Joe Conroy, Cooley’s CEO, said the space “will be among the world’s most sophisticated law firm office spaces.”
Cooley will be relocating from Brookfield Property Partners and Swig Company’s Grace Building at 1114 Sixth Avenue, where it occupies roughly 100,000 square feet.
Asking rents for the remaining space in the 1.5 million-square-foot 55 Hudson Yards range from $105 to $140 per square foot. The tower, developed by Related, Oxford Properties Group and Mitsui Fudosan America, is set to open next year. – Rich Bockmann
