Lester Holt sells NoMad apartment for $6M

From LLNYC: We’ve just received word that Lester Holt has sold his pad at 225 Fifth Avenue for $6.4 million after a little more than three months on the market. That’s a tad under what he listed it for, but still a pretty nice payday for him considering he only spent $3.3 million on it in 2007. Based on documents filed, the buyer appears to be Karhan Akcoglu, who bought under the Turhan Trust.

NBC “Nightly News” and “Dateline” anchor Lestor Holt has just listed his apartment at 225 Fifth Avenue for $6.6 million, per StreetEasy records.

Lucky for Holt, his wife, Carol Hagen-Holt, just so happens to be a real estate broker for Town Residential; she and Joann Wasserman, also of Town, are listing the apartment together. The Holts paid a little more than $3.3 million for the apartment in 2007 under the The Lester Don Holt, Jr. Revocable Trust.

According to the listing, the 2,168-square-foot apartment has three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, 11-foot ceilings, a private outdoor terrace, French doors, and window treatments that are controlled via remote control/smartphone.

Holt has been the host of “NBC Nightly News” since February 2015, after Brian Williams was suspended following the revelation he had exaggerated a story about the Iraq War.

Holt also moderated the first debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in September 2016, which Trump claimed at the time was unfair because Holt is a Democrat. In fact, Holt is a registered Republican.
