A 54,000-square-foot residential building with 77 apartments is on its way to East New York.
Brooklyn landlord Joel Schwartz of South Side Associates filed plans for an eight-story project at 820 Glenmore Avenue with the city’s Department of Buildings on Wednesday. It would replace a one-story warehouse on a 12,000-square-foot lot.
An LLC connected to Joel Fried purchased the land in 2016 for approximately $1.2 million.
Schwartz did not respond to a request for comment.
Although it is unclear whether the building at 820 Glenmore Avenue will feature affordable or market-rate housing, virtually all recent major developments on their way to East New York have been affordable. These include a complex from Phipps Houses with 403 units at 3301 Atlantic Avenue and a 100-unit building from Alan Bell’s B&B Urban for 315 Linwood Street.
